Beverly Williams Obituary

Beverly Ann Williams passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on January 18, 2023, after a short illness.
Beverly was born on November 13, 1954 in Tulsa, Ok to Edward and Zona VanArsdale.

Beverly attended Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, OK. Beverly moved to Savannah in 1989 and worked for the State as a Sign Language Interpreter and most recently was employed by Savannah College of Art and Design as a creativity counselor and coordinator of Deaf Services. Beverly’s passion was serving others; she was very proud to have signed for President George Bush, and always enjoyed her time signing in the courtroom.

On March 13, 1992, Beverly married the love of her life, Phillip Anthony Williams. Beverly’s passion was her family. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed entertaining friends and family. Beverly never allowed printed material on her table, and she knew how to present a beautiful home cooked meal with all the trimmings. Beverly was extremely creative, she loved working with beads and decorating. She had a love for wildlife….and all animals, and she loved salty marsh air and traveling. She was on the final voyage the Queen Elizabeth II and loved collecting all things “Titantic”.

In addition to her husband Phillip, Beverly leaves behind her parents, Edward and Zona; sister, Reva Kay VanArsdale of Tulsa, Ok; her fur baby, Rocky, an Australian Terrier; two brothers-in-law, Timothy Williams and Charles Castell; stepmother, Faye Williams; sister-in-law, Tabitha McCulloch (Steve); nephew, Wade MuCulloch; niece, Tyler MuCulloch; and a host of relatives and friends that will dearly miss her.

Thinking of your family and friends as you grieve for Beverly. She will live on forever in your hearts.

I have known Phillip for a short time but he quickly became a friend and someone I consider family. I never knew Beverly but I knew Phillip had the one.

Bev was a wonderful woman.

Phillip: We left Savannah on a trip last Saturday and are returning tomorrow evening. Karen and I were so sorry to hear of your wife’s death. Beverly was my cousin, the last time I saw her was in 1970. I so much enjoyed visiting with her and Kay when we were there and got to spend a few days with them. I am so sorry for all of you that knew and loved her. May you receive comfort from above and may God just hold all of you in His arms.

Phillip, My sincerest condolences on the loss of your lovely wife, Beverly. I only just saw your post and am sorry I missed the gathering to celebrate her life – it was a beautiful and meaningful one. Beverly was a sweet woman with a smile that could light up a room and a kind heart. She was a believer and I know she is now safe in the arms of Jesus.

I am very sorry to have to lost my cousin. She was so kind when Ginger, myself Melba, Tincy, and mom went out Tulsa it’s been years. How ever, a family sticks together forever. I pray for Edward and Zona for they have lost a lot! My mom Glena always spoke well of the family she cared so much for. May God bless.

Speaking for many at SCAD, Beverly was so kind and always had our students’ success in mind. Beverly will be missed, sending the family love and prayers during this difficult time.

Beverly immediately made me feel at home at work. She was one of the few people at work who took a genione interest in getting to know me. I will miss chatting about gardening and home improvements with her. Speaking with her was always just a joy. She barely knew me, but she treated me like a long-time friend. My condolences on your loss. Beverly was a spectacular person with an immense and kind heart.
