FOR EDWARD SANDERS

Even though I couldn’t play a lick of music, it never stopped you from being a great teacher, role model and mentor. You commanded respect by simply just being yourself. The world is a lot less good with you not being here. Thanks for everything. Gary Bolton c/o 86. Frederick Bolton c/o 84.

Offering prayers of comfort and sending my deepest condolences to the family. Mr. Sanders ignited a different love of music into his students and I will for ever be grateful for that.

RIP to my friend and colleague, Edward Sanders, former music teacher and band leader at John McDonogh High School. He led one of the region’s best marching bands. Now he can teach the Big Mac Attack to the angels! – Ken Ducote

Kappa Alpha Psi Obituary

” Be at the right place, at the right time, with the right equipment ready to function”. Those were the words of Mr. Sanders to his band students. A loving and caring Band Director, teacher and person. I had the opportunity of being the section leader in my Sophmore Year, Co Band Captain in my Junior Year and Band Captain in my Senior Year. Mr. Sanders also allowed me the opportunity to direct the band at my Graduation. Class of 1979. Also, he allowed me the opportunity to work with him a couple years following graduation. He loved teaching and instructing. There are so many memories that I just can’t expound on. I say to Mrs. Sanders, Nicole and the rest of the family, ” Time is filled with swift transition. Naught on earth unmoved can stand. Build your hopes on things eternal. Hope to God’s unchanging Hand. ” You are in me and my family prayers. Thank you for your Mr. Sanders with us.
